Yggdrasil Debuts in Africa with New Franchise Partner

Yggdrasil has announced its latest franchise partner, the South African platform provider Intelligent Gaming Limited (IGL), marking the company’s debut in the African continent.
After receiving regulatory approval, Yggdrasil’s content was integrated into the IGL platform, and it is now available to the company’s operator partners in South Africa through the franchise solution. The solution means that IGL has access to Yggdrasil’s technology stack, a catalog of roughly 150 games, and many promotional tools.
Becoming a Yggdrasil franchise partner is likely to boost IGL’s presence in local African markets. The company is already a leading content aggregator in the South African gaming market, and it supplies games to a number of operators. Now the games available will include Yggdrasil’s portfolio.
Furthermore, the franchise solution not only allows IGL to distribute Yggdrasil’s in-house developed games but also those developed by third-party studios through the YG Masters program. The first of IGL’s operators to offer Yggdrasil games is Superbets, a popular sports betting and casino brand that has a large digital and retail presence in South Africa and a number of other African countries.

This is a milestone achievement for Yggdrasil as we penetrate a massive market opportunity. We are very happy to have Intelligent Gaming as a Franchisee. This deal provides them with everything that has been created by Yggdrasil in the past eight years and will enhance their growing business operations in Africa. They are an ambitious, experienced, and well-connected supplier and see the huge potential of taking a Franchise in their key markets. This deal demonstrates how Yggdrasil is becoming a leading worldwide publisher of online gaming content.
Marc Plaxton-Harrison, the co-founder and CEO at Intelligent Gaming, said that the company is “extremely proud” to be a franchise partner for Yggdrasil in South Africa and Africa. He described Yggdrasil’s games as being of “outstanding quality” and said that they will have a significant role to play in the African market. He added, “I am extremely excited about this partnership.”
