Wynn Increase Daily Resorts Fees at Las Vegas Properties
Those heading to “Sin City”, in particular to Wynn Resorts, should be aware that the operator has increased the resort fees at its Las Vegas venues.
From January 24, 2024, the daily resort fee has been set at $50 plus tax for any reservations made on or after that date. Any prior bookings will be charged the previous rate of $45 plus tax per day.
Great Fluctuation in Las Vegas Rates
Resort fees are common across Las Vegas land-based casinos and hotels. They cover a range of amenities and services such as in-room Wi-Fi, access to pools, gyms, spas, golf courses, and so on. Furthermore, at Wynn Resorts, the fee allows guests to use Alexa in-room entertainment services and controls.
The increase in fees comes as hotel rates in Las Vegas undergo large fluctuations. For example, just before Super Bowl Sunday, the cost of hotel rooms in Vegas dropped by roughly 35%. The increased resort fees may pose a problem for those on a very tight budget. However, Wynn Resorts has said it is simply trying to provide its guests with a high-quality range of services and amenities.
Increases at Multiple Resorts
Wynn Resorts was not the only operator to increase its resort fees in January. MGM Resorts increased its fees to $50 at Bellagio, Aria, Vdara, MGM Grand, and Cosmopolitan.
A lesser-known reason for resort fees is that they allow an operator to keep official room rates lower, which benefits their online rankings. Right at the start of February, President Joe Biden paid a visit to Las Vegas and promised to eliminate hidden fees, including resort fees, which push up costs for US citizens.
