Wondr Nation, the online gambling division of the Mashantucket Pequot Tribal Nation, is aiming to encourage responsible gambling with the launch of the Wondr Nation Responsible and Sustainable Gaming Fund.

Grant Awarded to University of Connecticut School of Medicine

One of the main beneficiaries will be the University of Connecticut School of Medicine, which has been granted funding of $250,000 over a two-year period. The money is to be used to boost research into responsible gambling practices that encourage safer play.

The research will be led by Carla Rash, a professor at the university, and it will take an in-depth look at the effects on the community of rapid changes in the iGaming industry.

We take responsible play very seriously and are proud to work closely with UConn researchers to increase player safety, fund critical research, and invest in our communities. At Wondr Nation, our mission extends beyond entertainment as we strive to pioneer a new era of responsible gaming.

Faculty and graduate students at the School of Medicine will be able to use the funds to research effective, preventive, and responsible gambling programs. The research will be far-reaching and look at areas such as responsible gaming products and the differences between traditional gaming and newer online gaming with the aim of developing new treatments.

Wondr Nation Partners with CCPG

Wondr Nation also recently announced a partnership with the Connecticut Council on Problem Gaming (CCPG). They have promised to donate $300,000 each year for the next half a decade in order to support the CCPG’s work in education, prevention and awareness of problem gambling.
