Werner Becher Announced as New Chief Executive Officer of Kambi Group
Kambi Group has named Werner Becher as the new Chief Executive Officer, effective July 25, following the release of Kambi’s Q2 2024 report. Becher will take over from Kristian Nylén.

LISTEN TO THIS ARTICLE:Werner Becher is well-known in the sports betting and technology industries, having held top positions at Sportradar and Interwetten. At Sportradar, he started as Managing Director for the US-facing Betting division and later became CEO for EMEA and LATAM business units.
Becher was instrumental in Sportradar’s successful Nasdaq IPO in September 2021. Before Sportradar, Becher spent eight years as CEO of Interwetten, leading the company through significant growth. Recently, he has been an independent investor and advisor.
A Long Selection Process
The appointment follows an extensive search and selection process. Becher’s vast experience in the B2B and B2C sectors and his technology background make him an ideal leader to push Kambi’s strategic goals forward.

Nylén to Assist Transition
Kristian Nylén, a co-founder of Kambi and its CEO since 2010, announced his intention to step down in January. In May, he was elected to the Kambi Board of Directors at the Annual General Meeting and will assist Becher in a seamless transition.
Speaking about his appointment, Becher said that he was “honored” and described Kambi as having been “at the forefront of this industry for many years”. He explained that he has the “utmost respect and admiration” for Kambi and added, “I am excited to work closely with the Board, our executive team, and our talented employees across the world to deliver on the fantastic opportunities ahead of us.”
