Videoslots to Enter Ontario Market with Online Casino Offering
Online casino operator Videoslots has revealed its plans to launch in Ontario after obtaining a license in the jurisdiction.
Videoslots plans to go live in the Canadian province alongside its sister brand Mr Vegas, giving Ontario players access to its wide variety of games from leading developers like Evolution, Pragmatic Play, Play’n GO, Greentube, Pariplay and Light & Wonder.
The operator also offers users exclusive engagement features like Wheel or Jackpots, Battle of Slots and Clash of Spins.
Launching in Ontario is another milestone for the Videoslots team. We are excited at the prospect of entertaining players in the region. We have always enjoyed great success in Canada. It makes sense to join the market now that it is running and proving to work for players and operators.
By getting approval to launch in Ontario, Videoslots is now licensed in seven states, including Malta, Sweden, Denmark, Italy, Spain and the UK.
Fine Over Regulatory Failures
Videoslots is achieving this significant milestone day after it was indicted in a series of social responsibility and anti-money laundering failures by the UK Gambling Commission.
An investigation carried out by the Commission discovered that Videoslots had, between October 2019 and February 2022, breached some responsible gambling and anti-money laundering rules, including not ensuring that customers displaying risk behaviours were identified as potentially experiencing harm.
Videoslots was also charged with not implementing its risk-based processes appropriately and failing to fulfil customer due diligence as early as intended. The operator was ordered to pay a fine of £2.0m ($2.5m) for these infractions.
