Victoria Corbishley Joins GamCare as Its New CEO
GamCare, the leading provider of help and support for individuals effected by gambling related harms in the UK, has announced the appointment of Victoria Corbishley to the position of Chief Executive Officer, to oversee a period of change for the organization.
LISTEN TO THIS ARTICLE:Corbishley joins GamCare from the healthcare sector where she has a comprehensive knowledge of these services. She served at the British Red Cross as a Senior Director of Health and Care where she was responsible for strategy and national health operations.
Additionally she is a specialist in healthcare systems and has been involved in the design of intervention and prevention models targeting and supporting vulnerable people.
I am honoured to join GamCare at this crucial time. Last year alone, GamCare’s National Gambling Helpline received over 55,000 calls and online chats. The charity also directly delivered more than 9,100 structured treatment sessions, referred over 7,100 individuals to other regional support providers, and 64,000 people participated in the charity’s education programmes. These numbers highlight the essential role GamCare plays in supporting those affected by gambling harms, and reinforce our commitment to accessible, high-quality care.

GamCare to Increase Collaboration with Key Stakeholders
GamCare says it is going to expand its treatment services and education programs throughout the UK. It has stated it wants to change the organization and has tasked Corbishley with overseeing these changes. She wants to increase collaboration with its key partners in the health sector, including the NHS and other health providers so they can provide a more comprehensive service to those individuals who are at harm from gambling issues.
GamCare tries to work with gambling regulators and industry stakeholders and gave its backing to the new measures introduced by the government last year.
As GamCare navigates the evolving landscape, Victoria’s leadership will be instrumental in strengthening our collaborations with the NHS as well as UKRI and OHID as the new prevention commissioner.
