Tonje Sagstuen Becomes Norsk Tipping Acting CEO
Norwegian gambling monopoly Norsk Tipping has announced the appointment of Tonje Sagstuen as the acting CEO.
Sagstuen is a former Olympian representing Norway's handball team in the 1992 Barcelona Olympics. Since 2014, she has been a member of the Norsk Tipping executive team, where she played a key role in developing the company's social responsibility initiatives and societal projects.

Sagstuen will take over from Thor Gjermund Eriksen, who will be departing the company by the end of this month to take up a new Managing Director role at Norway's state-owned rail network firm Bane NOR.
Starting from September 1, Sagstuen would assume acting leadership duties until a permanent successor for Eriksen is selected.
I am pleased that Tonje has agreed to lead the company until a new managing director is appointed.
Norsk Tipping's Combat with Gambling Harm
Established in 1948, Norsk Tipping operates under the jurisdiction of the Ministry of Culture. The company holds the exclusive rights to offer a range of gambling services, including lotteries, sports betting, and other games of chance, within the Norwegian market.
One of the key objectives of Norsk Tipping is to ensure responsible gambling and minimize the potential harms associated with gambling activities. Over time, the company has implemented several measures to prevent problem gambling and protect vulnerable individuals.
From June 1, 2023, the company started subjecting consumers under the age of 20 to additional loss limit restrictions. This was an update to its NOK20,000 monthly mandatory loss limit on all customers across all games.
