The deal includes the product and technology platform that supports Tipico’s US operations, though financial specifics remain undisclosed.

This acquisition allows LeoVegas to manage a custom-built proprietary sportsbook across international markets and brands, excluding those exclusive to the BetMGM joint venture with Entain. Additionally, LeoVegas will gain Tipico’s management, technology, and trading teams in the US, Colombia, and Europe.

Tipico will cease its US operations in Colorado, Iowa, New Jersey, and Ohio before the deal concludes, which is expected in the third quarter, pending standard closing conditions.

An Important Milestone for MGM

Gary Fritz, President of MGM Interactive, highlighted the strategic importance of the deal, emphasizing how it enables MGM Resorts International to have greater control over its technology ecosystem.

The acquisition marks a significant milestone in the strategic development of MGM Resorts’ global digital gaming business. It allows us to operate a proprietary sports betting platform. The deal gives us control of our entire technology ecosystem. We are delighted to bring Tipico’s US team, with their track record of developing high-quality product and pricing capabilities, into our business.
