Tipico Group Names Axel Hefer as CEO in Leadership Changes
The Tipico Group, the German-based sports betting provider, has announced it has appointed Axel Hefer to the position of CEO, he is part of an internal restructuring of key personnel within the business.

LISTEN TO THIS ARTICLE:Hefer has moved from the role of Chief Operating Officer (COO), where he has served in the business since November 2023. Before joining Tipico, Hefer held management roles at several major German companies, and he was also a board member for eight years at the travel giant Trivago.
At Tipico he has been tasked with overseeing the group's continued growth and implementing advanced technology in the business. As well as enhancing product excellence across its sports betting portfolio.

Tipico Restructures Senior Leadership in the Company
The appointment of Hefer to the role of CEO is one of several changes to key personnel at Tipico. The outgoing CEO, Joachim Baca, has moved to the role of Chairman of the Supervisory Board to serve on the board of the company.
Senior leadership at Tipico thanked Joachim Baca for his eight years of service as the operator and listed his achievements which included, leading strong growth over his tenure and developing Tipico into a recognized brand in its jurisdiction. Additionally, he helped guide the provider's compliance policy and saw the company gain its sports betting license in Germany.
The focus on regulatory compliance has led to Tipico achieving iCAP accreditation earlier this year.
