Swish Analytics Sues Competitors Over Alleged Odds Theft
Sports betting odds provider Swish Analytics has taken legal action against two rival companies, OpticsOdds and Oddsjam.
Swish Analytics filed a lawsuit against both companies in the Superior Court of California, citing allegations of intellectual property theft.
According to the oddsmaker, both Oddsjam and OpticsOdds allegedly engaged in the unauthorized copying of time-sensitive odds from third-party sportsbooks, using automated data scraping techniques and illegally gaining access to Application Programming Interfaces (APIs).
Swish alleges that the companies subsequently republished the odds on their platforms and then sold access to this data to their customers.
Furthermore, Swish provided screenshots showing odds allegedly copied from other sportsbooks.

Massive Damages from Odds Misappropriation
The company maintains partnerships with several licensed sportsbooks, including FanDuel and bet365. In its lawsuit, Swish claims the defendants misappropriated odds from its licensed partners, including FanDuel, bet365, and additional unnamed operators.
Swish Analytics asserts that the misconduct has resulted in more than $100 million in damages. Moreover, the complaint alleges that the actions of both Oddsjam and OpticsOdds are inflicting “irreparable harm” on Swish Analytics.
“By free riding on Swish’s hard work and investment, defendants are reaping where they have not sown and are destroying the incentives for Swish and other independent developers of sports-related odds information to continue investing the time, effort, and money to independently generate that odds information.” The complaint further stated.
Additionally, the complaint demands an end to the alleged misappropriation and unfair competition.
Swish has requested a trial by jury, as specified in the lawsuit.
