Suntrust Resorts Delays Opening of New Philippines Integrated Resort
Suntrust Resort Holdings, the Philippines-based subsidiary of LET Group, has announced a revised and delayed opening timeline for its major hotel and casino project currently under construction in Manila's Entertainment City. The project, a $1.1 billion integrated resort (IR), is now slated to open in the fourth quarter of 2025.

LISTEN TO THIS ARTICLE:Originally targeting a late 2024 launch, the company previously updated its forecast to a general 2025 opening. The newly detailed fourth-quarter target marks the first time a specific timeframe for 2025 has been confirmed by Suntrust.

The company provided a comprehensive development update, indicating that construction has progressed to significant stages despite the extended timeline.
Structural work on the main hotel and casino building has been completed up to the roof level, and the installation of essential exterior facade elements is also in place. These structural advancements mark critical milestones in bringing the project, intended to be Entertainment City's fifth integrated resort, closer to completion.
Suntrust also noted that architectural fit-out work and civil construction on the exterior areas are currently underway. The company's management expressed its intention to launch the property's main attractions, including a five-star hotel and casino, in the fourth quarter of 2025.
The IR is anticipated to be a major addition to Manila's luxury hospitality sector and Entertainment City's tourism appeal. The resort, expected to be a key asset for LET Group and its other subsidiary Summit Ascent, is positioned to attract both local and international visitors with its array of high-end amenities and entertainment options.

A Boost for Manila's Entertainment City
Once completed, the Suntrust IR is expected to offer 475 luxury hotel rooms, catering to high-end clientele with premier accommodations in one of Asia's most competitive casino markets. The casino itself will feature a substantial gaming area, hosting 281 gaming tables, over 1,100 slot machines, and 134 electronic table games. The extensive range of gaming options emphasizes the resort's potential as a significant player in Manila's entertainment and casino landscape, a sector that has seen notable growth in recent years due to both local interest and international tourism.
Beyond the gaming and lodging aspects, the resort will include a variety of entertainment and leisure facilities aimed at creating a well-rounded visitor experience. Planned amenities include a pool deck, a spa and wellness center, and dedicated space for meetings, incentives, conferences, and exhibitions (MICE), an industry that has grown steadily in the region.
Additional features, such as a ballroom, theaters, and multiple cinemas, are also intended to broaden the resort's appeal and provide options for diverse visitor demographics. One of the highlights of the resort will be a "grand opera house," intended as a landmark feature that will add to Manila's cultural offerings.
