Experience in the Australian Casino Industry
McCann has prior experience working for Australia’s casino industry. In 2021, he was the CEO and MD of Crown Resorts, which may well prove to have provided him with invaluable experience. He also worked as Group CEO and MD of the real estate development and fund management group Lendlease for more than a decade.
The Chairperson of The Star, Anne Ward, welcomed McCann’s appointment and said that she believes he is the right man for the job.
Given his time with Crown and previous long-standing leadership at Lendlease, he has the right credentials to lead The Star’s remediation program. His track record reflects his capability to work collaboratively with multiple stakeholders and lead meaningful transformational change and cultural renewal.
