Sportradar has received approval to offer its services in Ontario after its online gaming market went live on April 4.
The sports integrity services provider was awarded the license after meeting the requirements listed by the Alcohol and Gaming Commission of Ontario (AGCO).
With the approval, Sportradar will be able to provide its wide range of betting odds, live streaming facilities, media services, and technology platforms to new and existing licensed partners in Ontario.
With Ontario in the bag, Sportradar now has 36 supplier licenses across North America and Canada, including Maryland and Wisconsin. The sports data provider also has existing deals with several sports brands like Bowl Season and the Swiss Handball Federation.
Ontario’s online gambling market launched on April 4 with about 25 iGaming licensed entities. The first day of the market witnessed several brands like PointsBet, FanDuel Group, and 888 accepting bets from players in the jurisdiction.
In similar news, Kings Entertainment, the parent company of LottoKings and WinTrillions, has commented on the launch of online gaming in Ontario.
This is an exciting development for the Ontario iGaming market. Jurisdictions around the globe are increasingly implementing regulatory frameworks that support legal private-sector gambling, to provide a safe gaming environment, create tourism, offer employment opportunities and keep revenue within legal, regulated entities. We’re fully supportive of these objectives and are exploring opportunities to expand into these emerging markets.
