Slotegrator Analyses Where iGaming is Headed in 2023
Slotegrator, the iGaming technology company, has published an analysis of the iGaming industry and the trends is expects to see in 2023.
The online gambling industry is continuing to grow apace. At the end of 2021, it was worth $93 billion, up 65% in just two years, and by the end of 2025, it is expected to be worth $113.12 billion. Similarly, sports betting was worth an estimated $72 billion in 2021 and is expected to reach $140 billion by 2028.
While the overall trend is certainly one of growth, it is worth looking at emerging trends within specific fields.
Maria Baranova, Slotegrator’s team leader of partner relations managers, believes that live dealer casinos will move towards customization. She thinks that operators will move towards more bespoke environments complete with branded tables and offer players more choice of ambience. She also believes that there will be greater integration of VR and AR technology.
However, Baranova also believes that RNG games will remain the default choice of players in Europe, India and Asia, and that new, exciting developers are likely to make their marks. She also thinks that developers will continue to create built-in retention features such as special game rounds, hidden rewards, and different types of bonuses.
Another trend Baranova expects to see is a greater diversity of games and betting markets. Rather than specializing in one area, operators will attempt to cast a wide net in order to attract new players.
Also, the future of the iGaming world is in small studios that enter the market with fresh games and ideas. Newcomers in the market tend to be more focused on increasing player loyalty, increasing player engagement and, accordingly, increasing the time that people spend playing games.
