Simon Hammon Announced as New Relax Gaming CEO
Relax Gaming, the content aggregator and developer, has announced that Simon Hammon has been appointed as the company's new Chief Executive Officer.
Hammon, who was the company's Chief Product Officer, is replacing Tommi Maijala, who has been in the role since November 2019. Maijala will be remaining with Relax Gaming until the end of the year to support Hammon during the transition.
Hammon has spent the past 10 years working as part of executive management teams, with almost half of that spent time as Chief Product Officer at Relax.
We're absolutely delighted to announce Simon Hammon as Relax Gaming's newest Chief Executive Officer. Relax is continuing steadfast on its journey to claim an ever-larger footprint in the gambling industry, and we believe Simon, with his experience, knowledge, and vision, is the perfect person to lead the team in the coming years. Simultaneously, we'd like to take the opportunity to extend our gratitude to our outgoing CEO, Tommi Maijala, who has been instrumental in guiding the company through arguably the most pivotal years of our history. Simon will be able to continue building boldly, supported by the confidence that a rock-solid foundation provides.
Speaking about his appointment, Hammon said that he was "truly honored". He praised the company for its "world-class offering" and said that he is "blessed" to be working with a team that wants to take it "to the next level".
Hammon added, "Relax has grown in terms of people but also in terms of market power and brand. This is something I'm keen to continue and help drive. Relax has a bright future filled with global expansion, exciting new product offerings, and positive working culture. I look forward to continuing on this journey with you."
The announcement came a day after Relax Gaming released its latest title, Banana Town Slot, a monkey-themed mobster slot.
