Shaquille O’Neal Teams up with DraftKings for NBA Season
Leading iGaming and sports betting operator DraftKings has signed NBA Legend Shaquille O’Neal as brand ambassador ahead of the 2024-25 NBA season.
DraftKings shared a video on X featuring O'Neal seated, making a basket, and proclaiming himself "Mr. DraftKings."
O’Neal, popularly known as Shaq, is a cultural icon and one of America’s most cherished celebrities.
His remarkable NBA career spanned 19 seasons and yielded numerous accolades, including four championships with the Los Angeles Lakers and Miami Heat. He had 15 All-Star appearances and was the Most Valuable Player (MVP) for the 1999-2000 season.
After retiring, O’Neal transitioned to television, joining Inside the NBA, and leveraged his charisma to become a sought-after marketing partner for major companies. He has been featured in campaigns for brands like Burger King, NBA 2K, PepsiCo, Nestle, and more.
O’Neal previously partnered with WynnBet Sportsbook in the US, but the endorsement deal expired following Wynn Resorts’ decision to downsize WynnBet’s operations to Massachusetts and Nevada. This paved the way for DraftKings to sign the NBA icon.
