Seth Davies Wins Super High Roller Bowl IX and $3.2m Prize
Professional poker player Seth Davies has won the Super High Roller Bowl IX and added an impressive $3.2 million to his career earnings.
Super High Roller Bowl IX won by Seth Davies.
As the name suggests, the Super High Roller Bowl IX is a high-stakes tournament. It had a $300,000 buy-in that attracted 24 elite poker players, including Davies. In the final showdown, Davies went head-to-head with Spain’s Juan Pardo. Holding a chip lead of 4.26 million over Pardo's 2.94 million, Davies entered the final battle with a sizeable advantage.
It took just two hands for Davies to claim victory and the $3.2 million prize.
A Spectacular Second Hand from Davies
During the second and decisive hand, Davies showed his skill by raising pre-flop with an 8-7, while Pardo called with a 4-3. The flop revealed a 5-K-9, which set Davies up perfectly for the win with the arrival of the ideal 6. After calling a bluff to see the river, the tension escalated, leading Pardo to confidently place a large bet, believing he had the upper hand. However, Davies responded by going all-in, prompting Pardo to call. In the end, Davies emerged victorious with a straight over straight.
In addition to winning him $3.2 million, the win propelled Davies to the 13th spot on the PokerGo Tour leaderboard, where Jeremy Ausmus, who finished third in the event, currently holds the top position.
