Scheduled to launch in early 2025, the innovative RG program will harness digital tools to deliver responsible gaming and financial literacy content to students across various campuses and demographics nationwide.

According to the association, the program will put a human face to the issue of problem gambling and destigmatize it by sharing the lived experiences of individuals facing gambling-related challenges.

Another aspect of the campaign will teach students crucial financial literacy skills, such as budgeting, saving, and debt management.

Furthermore, the program will break down complex mathematical concepts like odds, probability, and randomness into accessible and easy-to-understand information. This will help students grasp the math behind betting and make informed decisions.

The program’s lessons will be accessible to all college-aged individuals, enrolled or not. A tailored module will be developed for student-athletes to address their unique needs.

ROGA was established in March by leading operators, including BetMGM, FanDuel, DraftKings, Bet365, Penn Entertainment, Hard Rock Digital, and Fanatics Betting & Gaming. In June, Bally’s announced its membership of the association.

A main goal of ROGA is to promote responsible gaming education and awareness across various audiences, including the college-aged demographic. While there are already great programs focused on student-athletes, there are very few resources currently available to the broader university student population.

Safe Gaming Entities Unite for RG Program

ROGA has announced a collaboration with Epic Global Solutions, Kindbridge Behavioral Health, and the Responsible Gaming Council (RGC) to develop the initiative.

Kindbridge has been active in universities and the gambling industry, offering programs like responsible gambling education for ROTC students. EPIC Global Solutions has also created responsible gambling curricula for the NCAA and college athletes.

At Kindbridge Behavioural Health, we understand the unique challenges that college students face in balancing entertainment options, such as gaming behaviours, with academic and personal responsibilities. Partnering with ROGA on this national education campaign is a crucial step toward providing young adults with the tools and knowledge they need to make informed, financially responsible decisions about gaming.
