Resorts World Unveils New Board with Industry Veterans

Resorts World Las Vegas has established a new Board of Directors and appointed seasoned executives to lead it, including Jim Murren as Chairman and Alex Dixon as CEO.

The Board will be helpful in shaping Resorts World Las Vegas governance structure to drive its long-term growth initiatives.

The Board also features three additional members, including AG Burnett and Michelle DiTondo, as independent directors, and Kong Han Tan as a non-independent director.

Before his new role, Jim Murren led MGM Resorts International as CEO and Chairman, spearheading various strategic and growth initiatives. Dixon brings expertise from Q Casino & Resort and Dubuque Racing Association, where he previously served as CEO.

AG Burnett is currently a Partner in the Gaming & Administrative Law Group with McDonald Carano, and he previously held the role of Chairman at the Nevada Gaming Control Board from 2012 through 2017.

A seasoned human resources industry leader, Michelle DiTondo, works at Avion Consulting, Inc., where she advises CEOs, CHROs, and senior business leaders on business strategic planning, talent, culture, and inclusion strategies.

Kong Han Tan is the current President and Chief Operating Officer of Genting Berhad, the parent company of Resorts World Las Vegas. He served as an investment banker for more than 13 years before joining Genting Berhad in 2007.

The newly-formed Board of Directors commenced their tenure on 4 December 2024, with the exception of Dixon, who will begin his role as CEO on 16 January 2025.
