Racecourse Media Group Launches Horseracing Service on SSBTs

Racecourse Media Group (RMG) has announced the launch of a revolutionary new horseracing service in betting shops in the United Kingdom, which has been developed in partnership with Quantum Leap Solutions (QLS) and Pythia Sports.

This new horseracing product has been developed to operate on Self Service Betting Terminals (SSBTs) in betting locations, and RMG has reached an agreement with Playtech to integrate this service into their terminals and add to their portfolio of games.

RMG is the representative body of 37 courses located throughout the UK, and races from these racecourses will now be available on SSBTs across the region. Some of the biggest betting shop chains in the UK will now operate this service, including Coral, Ladbrokes, Betfred, Boyle Sports, Paddy Power, and Jennings.

Around 80% of football bets are now staked via SSBTs in betting shops, but the number drops off spectacularly when it comes to racing. This exciting new product provides markets and an experience that is much better suited to the preferences of SSBT users and will accordingly directly drive revenues and engagement with the sport.

Phase 1 Will Include Race Cards and New Range of Bets

During the first phase of this rollout, customers will have access to race cards for meetings and in-depth data for the race.

The number of bets that can be placed on a single race at a race meeting via the SSBTs has significantly increased and includes such as head-to-head, betting without the favorite, odd vs even, and place-only betting.

Racecourse Media Group boasts this is all available for customers in betting shops to enjoy on the SSBTs with an easy-to-use design.

Having rolled this fantastic product out to our entire UK and Irish customer base, we are delighted with the positive feedback from customers as well as the popularity of this innovative, new betting offering. For example, the new betting markets are already delivering over 10% of business from these racetracks, with our expectation that this will increase significantly in the coming months.

Phase 2 In-Play Betting on Horseracing

RMG has stated they have plans to introduce in-play betting on the SSBTs in the second phase of the launch of this new service. This is quite revolutionary because betting shops in the UK do not offer this service over the counter.

This has been an exciting project for Pythia Sports to work on with RMG in delivering odds to Playtech and its SSBT clients in the UK. RMG’s decision to introduce innovative betting content from all of its tracks is being well-received by SSBT users and has the potential to reshape the way horse racing is bet on in shops.
