R. Franco and Grupo Agree on a Merger for Spain Dominance
The two most popular gambling firms in Spain, R. Franco and Group Orenes, have surprisingly agreed on a merger to create a company that would be the single biggest manufacturer and distributor of gambling machines for casinos, cafes, and arcades across the country.
The partnership will also see additional changes coming to the companies’ online gaming operations.
The merger is coming at a time when the Spanish government is planning to introduce new lasting Spanish laws on land-based gambling.
Some of the yet-to-be implemented new rules are expected to be stricter and will impact how much time people can spend gambling and gambling operators can spend on marketing campaigns targeting Spanish residents.
According to the two companies, the partnership would lead to a new internationalization strategy that would target fast-growth opportunities in Latin American jurisdictions, where Orenes operates. Recreativos Franco is Spain’s top manufacturer of fruit machines for leisure enterprises.
R. Franco is headquartered in Madrid and founded by the Joaquin and Jesus Franco Munoz brothers in 1965.
Both companies are united by very strong personal ties and a long history of success. This merger strengthens us in the face of the challenges we want to tackle and assures us of a promising future.
Orenes Group has been in the Spain gambling industry for more than half a century. The company currently operates casinos in the provinces of Chihuahua, Querétaro, and Guanajuato in Mexico.
This union reinforces us and guarantees our future positioning as one of the main global operators in the sector. We are going to continue working to improve our customers’ experiences and generate value for society as a whole.
