Queen Baton Rouge Casino Enjoys Strong September Revenues
LISTEN TO THIS ARTICLE:The Queen Baton Rouge casino, located in Louisiana, North America, has announced an impressive increase in revenue in September this year, up more than 90% on the previous month.
In further details of the results, the Queen Baton Rouge achieved revenue of $7.3 million in September 2023, which is up from $3.95 million, an 84% rise, in a direct comparison for the same period in 2022.
The Queen Casino & Entertainment operates the Queen Baton Rouge casino, which comprises a 100,000-square-foot gaming floor with 700 slot machines and 18 traditional table games. There is also a DraftKings owned sportsbook housed in the casino venue.
Group Relocated Riverboat Casinos
Last year, the Queen Casino & Entertainment group decided to take advantage of legislation that stated a riverboat gambling venue could be relocated and become part of the land-based casino sector as long as it remained within a quarter of a mile of its original site. The group also spent $80 million upgrading and redevelopment of the Queen Baton Rouge casino.
It would appear the relocation and redevelopment of the Queen Baton Rouge has paid dividends because the revenues have seen such a marked increase.
Overall Performance of the Riverboat Casinos
While the Queen Baton Rouge casino has enjoyed outstanding results for September this year, the official results from the other two casinos in Baton Rouge are in stark contrast.
The L’Auberge Baton Rouge and Belle of Baton Rouge casinos are the region's other two gaming locations, and have both seen revenues drop from the previous year.
L’Auberge Baton Rouge reported a revenue figure of $12.5 million for the September trading period, which is down 5.2% from $13.2 million in a year-on-year comparison.
The Belle of Baton Rouge took revenue of $890K in September this year in comparison to $1.12 million in the same month last year, a decline of 21%.
