The event was held at London’s Hippodrome Casino and featured a guaranteed prize pool of $127,300. Each player secured their spot in the tournament with a $400 buy-in, eyeing a share of the prize pool and the coveted PokerStars trophy.

The Main Event was won by Argentine poker professional Maria Lampropulos, who took home $25,460. In the Women’s Winter Festival, PokerStars also unveiled its maiden Women’s High Roller event and the 50/50 tournament, which brought together an equal number of female and male competitors.

This event was a celebration of women, and about championing and empowering women in poker. I'm so pleased that we have created this amazing community event that was accessible for everyone to come and have a go and was filled with fun, laughter and fantastic poker. Thank you to everyone who joined us, I'm excited to see what's ahead.

PokerStars Bridging the Divide

According to PokerStars, it launched the Woman’s Winter Festival to address the gender imbalance in poker following the revelation that women accounted for only 3% of poker tournament participants.

The four-day tournament attracted a talent pool of female players, including seasoned professionals like Marle Spragg, Jennifer Shahade, Kyna England, and Vanessa Kade.

The innovative 50/50 event, with half women and half men was the most fun I've ever had at a poker tourney, with toasts, singing and belly laughs.
