Playtech Looks to Future Growth after Strong 2021
Playtech, the leading online gambling content and technology supplier, has reported revenue of €1.21 billion for the year ending 31 December 2021, a 12% increase year on year.
The company's adjusted EBITDA was €317.1 million, up 25% from the previous year and adjusted post-tax profit was up a massive 366% to €127.6 million.
In a statement, Playtech noted that it had delivered a strong financial performance that exceeded its previous guidance. This was largely due to the company's B2B business, particularly in the Americas, and the continued "outperformance" of its Italian B2C business Snaitech, which has become Italy's leading sports betting brand both in retail and online.
Our full-year results demonstrate the quality of Playtech's technology and the momentum across the group. Our strong performance is underpinned by our B2B business, in particular the tremendous growth we have seen in the Americas. We have made real progress in the execution of our US strategy, supported by new licenses, new launches, and new partnerships, and we continue to go from strength to strength in Latin America, buoyed by new strategic agreements across the region.
The group also mentioned its current situation and future possibilities explaining that it has had a strong start to the year with both B2B and B2C online businesses expected to continue delivering strong results. As such, the statement said that "the board is confident of Playtech's future prospects".
