Philippine Casino Complex Solaire Resort North to Hire 4,200 Workers
Bloomberry Resorts Corp. disclosed in a local media report on Wednesday that its latest venture in the Philippines, Solaire Resort North, is moving toward an early 2024 launch. When it’s completely up and running, the company’s second resort in the country will look to employ as many as 4,200 workers.
Bloomberry Brings Jobs to the Philippines
This announcement took place during an official recruitment event Bloomberry held in Quezon City, where the complex is being built. According to ABS-CBN News, Donato Almeda, the vice president of corporate and legal affairs at Bloomberry, expressed that it organized the recruitment fair to raise awareness of the project and strengthen the company's bond with the community, as well as potential employees.
Construction setbacks have necessitated a shift in the opening timeline for the Solaire Resort North project. Initially slated to commence operations before the end of this year, Bloomberry, owned by land-based casino mogul and billionaire Enrique Razon, now expects to inaugurate the property early next year.
Since mid-2019, the central business district of Quezon has witnessed Bloomberry's endeavors toward the creation of Solaire Resort North. However, the construction process endured immense interruptions due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
As disclosed by the company in earlier statements, this development will consist of an impressive hotel tower offering 550 rooms. It will also host an expansive casino accommodating up to 200 gaming tables and around 3,000 slots.
More Projects in the Works
Bloomberry’s cornerstone project in the Philippines is its Solaire Resort and Casino in Entertainment City in Manila. However, in addition to it and Solaire Resort North, there is an additional development in the works for the urban landscape, marking the third establishment in the area.
A year ago, in a filing with the Philippine Stock Exchange, Bloomberry mentioned a new complex in Cavite, about 41 miles from Metro Manila. At the time, the goal was to begin construction once Solaire Resort North was finished.
The process has been slow, though, as the company worked to sign purchase contracts for the almost 692 acres of land it wants to acquire for the project. It completed the deals earlier this year, spending around PHP7.5 billion (US$140 million) in the process.
