Penn to Debut Standalone Hollywood Casino App in 2025
Penn Entertainment has announced its plans to launch a standalone Hollywood Casino mobile app in multiple US states in 2025.
The Hollywood Casino at Penn National Race Course, Grantville, Pennsylvania.
The new app is slated to debut in Pennsylvania as early as January 2025, pending regulatory approval. The casino will then subsequently launch in other key iGaming markets like Michigan, New Jersey, West Virginia, and Ontario.
Hollywood Casino Online wouldn’t be a new brand in the Pennsylvania market. It was previously operated by Penn, in conjunction with IGT, in the state and was able to capture a single-digit market share before winding down operations about a year ago.
Penn Entertainment’s Hollywood Casino brand maintains a significant physical presence with several locations across the US, including four in Pennsylvania and others in Michigan and Ohio. The operator is poised to capitalize on cross-selling opportunities by transitioning the brand to online gaming.
We watched our competition launch standalone iCasino apps with great success, and many times it was the same brand. For us, it’s not only leading with iCasino in that app but it’s also the brand connection, which is going to be pretty powerful for us with regard to the marketing plan. We think Hollywood Casino will perform very well; we think that’s going to be a really nice shot in the arm for us in terms of continuing to grow our online casino business.
The Hollywood Casino online platform will initially feature a comprehensive slots library supplemented by traditional table games.

Omnichannel Vision Across Verticals
Penn executives have highlighted that the cross-sell potential will extend beyond land-based casino gaming and iCasino, but also tap into online sports betting.
There is a whole cohort of iGamers who don’t get the fact that they have to access our casino through our sportsbooks. This completely unlocks that, and building on that further is the entire omnichannel opportunity where people are in our casinos, and we clearly market to them the same branded product that they’re playing on-site as they go interactive.
