Penn National Gaming Opens Fourth Pennsylvania Venue
Penn National Gaming has opened its fourth gaming and entertainment facility in Pennsylvania, Hollywood Casino Morgantown. Just in time for Christmas, the casino, which cost $111 million, is Penn National Gaming’s forty-fourth property to open in North America.
The ribbon cutting ceremony was attended by executives from Penn National Gaming together with legislators, state gaming officials, and area dignitaries including Philadelphia Eagles’ Vince Papale. Visitors to the casino can enjoy 750 state-of-the-art slot machines, 20 table games, a retail barstool sportsbook, and dining experiences.
We would like to officially welcome players and guests to Hollywood Casino Morgantown, our fourth property in the Commonwealth. We’re thrilled to showcase this regional entertainment destination, offering premier gaming and dining in a modern atmosphere. In addition, we’re grateful for the support of our host community, Caernarvon Township, and to all of our local and state legislators and regional business leaders who helped make this day possible. We’re proud to be creating jobs and starting a new economic engine right here in Berks County.
The new casino is home to 80,000 square feet of gaming and entertainment space, it employs roughly 375 people and has generated more than 275 construction jobs. It is set to be open 24/7.
George explained that the casino features Penn National’s 3Cs technology, allowing for card-less, cashless, and contactless payments using a wallet system. He added, “I would like to thank the Pennsylvania Gaming Control Board for their support as well as our technology partners Everi Holdings and Acres Manufacturing.”
