Online Poker Product Launched by FDJ
The French lottery operator FDJ, nationally known as ‘les Française des Jeux’ has announced that it has moved into the online poker vertical following the release of its own product.
As such, the first product that has been launched by FDJ is called Jackpot Sit & Go, which is going to be offered to new customers via its ParionsSport en ligne mobile app, with a new area dedicated to this product.
Part of a wider strategy to make further forays into the French online gambling market, the company has announced that this will initially be experimental as it seeks feedback in terms of how responsive the French market is.
Diversification Key for Market Expansion
With the product already developed and through the testing phase, this will be run via Playtech’s iPoker service, and it is the aim of the business to continue to increase the number of poker products on the site, with a wider range being the target, subject of approval from France’s regulator Autorité Nationale des Jeux.
We’re pleased to offer our players a new range of games; they’ll be able to use the ParionsSport en ligne app to enjoy a recreational poker range that is designed for all types of players. This move enables FDJ to round out our presence in the online gaming market, in line with our strategy focusing on growth and ongoing innovation, based on a business model that combines performance and responsibility to keep gaming fun.
It appears that FDJ is seemingly in a strong position to embark on growth plans after the company witnessed a bullish third quarter of the year.
“Our digital business continues to attract a growing number of players, almost five million,” said FDJ chairwoman and CEO Stéphane Pallez. “The good performance expected for the full year reflects the relevance of our strategy, which is based on these two distribution channels, and confirms our long-term responsible growth model.”
What’s Next for FDJ?
No doubt, the immediate plans of the company will be to make sure that they have the right strategy in place to enable the brand to sustain consistent growth over the initial four quarters while also consolidating and maintaining encouraging results with its lottery product.
What is also likely is that key stakeholders in the company are likely responsible for mapping out the company’s further growth plans and identifying the verticals where it can book easy wins.
Online gambling in France has steadily been growing over the years, with much attention paid to its sports betting industry, while online casino attracts considerable interest.
FDJ are likely to want to ride the crest of the wave and dominate as soon as possible. For its new poker product, the marketing will need to be on point, with each stage implemented in the right way and at the right time.
For now, it is very much a case of ‘watch this space’, however big or small it turns out to be.
