NOVOMATIC Completes the Acquisition of the HBG Group
NOVOMATIC has announced that the acquisition of the HBG Group, the Italian concessionaires and technology provider, has now been completed.
This partnership will see NOVOMATIC, one of the leading producers and operators of gaming technologies worldwide, become the biggest concessionaires in the Italian market, which is one of the most important gaming regions in Europe.
The agreement is subject to approval from the appropriate regulatory bodies and sees NOVOMATIC continue with a planned strategy of expansion throughout Europe, and the acquisition is the largest purchase made by the company so far.
The HBG Group is the leading operator in the Italian region regarding the number of Video Lottery Terminals (VLTs) and Amusement with Prizes (AWPs) in the market. This deal sees NOVOMATIC take over this mantle.
With this acquisition, NOVOMATIC is sending a clear signal of further international expansion and can double its market share as a concessionaire in one of the key European gaming markets.
Founded in 1980, over four decades NOVOMATIC has grown into an industry leader in the gaming technology market globally. The Group operates in around 100 countries, supplying gaming equipment and technology solutions via more than 200,000 terminals and VLTs in 2,000 retail gaming operations.
Markus Büchele the CEO of NOVOMATIC Italia said “Exactly in the year of our 15th anniversary in Italy, we can continue on a very successful path thanks to a great partnership with HBG and grow further together.”
