Nevada Gaming Win Exceeds $1 Billion for 17th Consecutive Month

Non-restricted gaming licensees in Nevada have reported net gaming win of $1.31 billion for the month of July.

A non-restricted licensee is one that is allowed to have more than 15 slot machines on their premises while net gaming win is basically gaming revenue minus the prize money paid out.

According to the Nevada Gaming Control Board, the figure is 3% down from the same month last year, when licensees reported a net gaming win of $1.35 billion. The majority of the money came from Clark County, a total of $1.12 billion, which was also down 3% year-on-year from $1.16 billion.

Clark County is home to the Las Vegas Strip, where revenue was down 3% year-on-year to $773.3 million, and Downtown and North Las Vegas revenue came to $60 million and $24.5 million, respectively, which represents declines of 16% and 4%, respectively.

The revenue total from Laughlin was $42.8 million while it was $72.7 million at Boulder Strip. Laughlin saw no change from last year while Boulder Strip enjoyed a 4% rise. Mesquite was also equal year-on-year with revenue of $14.1 million.

Washoe County saw its revenue drop 5% to $94.7 million and South Lake Tahoe revenue was down 1% to $31.8 million. There was also a fall in revenue from Carson Valley Area; it dropped 3% to $11.7 million. However, revenue rose 5% in Elko County to $35.9 million.

The Nevada Gaming Control Board also said that in August 2022 the state collected $90.3 million in percentage fees, which were based upon the taxable revenues generated in July 2022. This is a 7% fall year-on-year from $97.7 million.
