Mohegan Inspire Casino Gets Executive Team Ahead of Launch
LISTEN TO THIS ARTICLE:Mohegan Gaming is making preparations for the launch of its new Mohegan Inspire integrated resort (IR) in South Korea. It has made several executive appointments to help boost the company's position once the gaming property is ready to open.
Mohegan Inspire Adds C-Level Talent
Chen Si is the new president of Inspired Integrated Resort Co Ltd, a subsidiary of Mohegan Gaming. In addition, Wade Howk has also been appointed as the Chief Operating Officer (COO) of the same subsidiary. Inspired Integrated Resort Co is a specially designated company headquartered in South Korea and is under the ownership of Mohegan Gaming.
In a press release released on Monday, Mohegan Gaming announced that Si, as the president, would bear the responsibility of guiding the strategic trajectory and operational outcomes of Mohegan Inspire. Within his realm of duties, he will not only supervise financial allocations and strategic blueprints to ensure the company's vision is executed across all tiers, but also take charge of measuring performance and spearheading enhancement endeavors.
In addition, he will assume responsibility for overseeing the company's interactions with government agencies and business associates, channeling external communications, and acting as an ambassador for the organization.
Howk has an impressive background in the casino and entertainment industry. Before joining Mohegan Inspire, he held the positions of Chief Financial Officer and interim president at the Hard Rock Casino in Cincinnati, Ohio. Additionally, he served as the VP of Strategy for SeaWorld Parks, demonstrating his expertise in developing effective business strategies within the entertainment sector.
In the same statement, Si expressed his excitement for the upcoming project in South Korea under the Mohegan brand. He emphasized his enthusiasm for innovation, the opportunity for cultural exchange, and the prospect of building strong relationships in this new endeavor.
A Bright Future Ahead
Construction of the new Mohegan Inspire IR in Incheon, South Korea, continues, complete with an exclusive casino exclusively for international visitors. Initially priced at $1.6 billion, this project is anticipated to unveil its impressive features by the end of the fourth quarter of this year.
A number of initiatives will be developed at the property, including a hotel with 1,200 keys. There will also be an arena and convention space with seating for up to 15,000, alongside conference venues, dining options, diverse retail outlets and amusement facilities. Accompanying these will be an indoor water park and open-air recreational area for family travelers.
Ray Pineault, president and CEO of Mohegan Gaming, stated that the IR has exceeded the company's initial expectations. According to him, the expansion of Mohegan into the international market encompasses more than just expansion; it also signifies the sharing of their cultural heritage and essence with the entire globe.
