MGM Resorts Set to Introduce MGM Rewards at Cosmopolitan Las Vegas
LISTEN TO THIS ARTICLE:MGM Resorts International has officially announced the launch date for the MGM Rewards loyalty program at the Cosmopolitan of Las Vegas; February 1, 2024. The schedule ensures that the property has plenty of time to prepare for its introduction.
Following MGM’s acquisition of The Cosmopolitan property in May 2022, at a cost of $1.6 billion, the company has been diligently working to integrate its loyalty program. This move aims to build better connections between the company’s various properties.
MGM Rewards Available at 20 US Properties
However, a number of details needed to be addressed, as discussed during a Nevada Gaming Control Board meeting, before the new technology could be implemented. Pat Madamba, SVP and legal counsel acknowledged that the unification of the Cosmopolitan operating system with MGM Rewards required some time. However, integration is now set for completion in Q1 of the following year.
The news means that customers of the Cosmopolitan will be able to earn points and redeem them at 20 properties across the US.
Steve Zanella, MGM Resorts’ CCO, explained that The Cosmopolitan is adding a new set of ways for gaming and non-gaming customers to enjoy. Furthermore, MGM has declared that the existing Identity membership will be transitioned to MGM Rewards, maintaining the current customer benefits and levels.
MGM Resorts Promises Smooth Transition
The conversion will allow Identity points to be transferred to MGM Rewards, and all the associated benefits will be retained until January 31, 2024. Following this date, the new system will commence, and customers will begin to collect points under MGM Rewards.
Additionally, MGM Resorts is in the process of finalizing a licensing agreement with Marriott International. This collaboration will result in the creation of the MGM Collection with Marriott Bonvoy, set to kick off in October.
