MGM Grand Opens Live Dealer Studio Through Playtech Partnership
MGM Resorts International has expanded its partnership with Playtech plc by opening a new live dealer studio on the casino floor of the MGM Grand in Las Vegas. The studio, known as MGM Live, represents a significant advancement in the delivery of interactive gaming experiences and is currently pending regulatory approval before it can begin offering online wagers to players in international markets.

The physical placement of the studio allows for visibility from various public areas within the MGM Grand, including the popular Wolfgang Puck Bar & Grill. This visibility reinforces the blending of live casino atmospheres with interactive online gaming technology. Guests dining or passing by the restaurant can observe live dealer activities, creating an immersive and transparent gaming environment.
MGM Resorts and Playtech have previously collaborated on dual-cast gaming services, which enable players to bet simultaneously in person and online on live roulette and baccarat games. These games are streamed from the main gaming floors of the Bellagio and MGM Grand and are available exclusively to international online audiences. This prior success laid the groundwork for the current expansion into a dedicated live dealer studio.
Live dealer games have become a popular feature in the seven legal online gambling markets in the US. In these jurisdictions, several live dealer studios operate within Atlantic City casinos, offering games such as blackjack, baccarat, and craps. A similar setup exists for BetMGM players in New Jersey, where live roulette is streamed from the Borgata, a property also operated by MGM Resorts.
The launch of the MGM Live studio at MGM Grand signals a continued evolution in the intersection between land-based casino operations and digital gaming platforms.
