According to the MGC, the new seal marks a significant step as it helps assure consumers that they are gambling on a platform “licensed in the Commonwealth of Massachusetts by the MGC.” Players within Massachusetts can rely on the displayed certification logo to verify safe and legal gaming options.

The seal reaffirms the regulator’s commitment to promoting responsible gaming practices and a sustainable gaming market in Massachusetts.

The commission stated that the seal protects consumers and builds trust among those who choose to gamble. “ It serves as a visual reminder of the regulations in place,” ensuring a secure and fair gaming environment for all consumers within the state.

The MGC has spent considerable efforts ensuring that the operators licensed in the Commonwealth share our values and are committed to consumer protections and responsible gaming. Massachusetts residents who choose to gamble on sports deserve to know their data, personal and financial information are protected, and only the legal marketplace offers those protections. By locating this seal, users will be able to easily identify a legal sportsbook from an illegal operator.

$1 million of the allocated funds was slated to go toward workforce development through an initiative called Project Build Up 2.0, aimed at expanding career opportunities.

$2.1 million was earmarked for a peer-to-peer prevention program called Youth Leaders in Problem Gambling Prevention. The initiative empowers young individuals between the ages of 12 and 21 to take leadership roles in promoting responsible gaming practices and raising awareness about the risks associated with problem gambling.
