MGA Denies Regulatory Ties with Casinowinner.io
The Malta Gaming Authority has released a statement distancing itself from online gambling platform Casinowinner.io.

According to the authority, it does not regulate the site's operations; as such, any MGA license claims by the platform are false and deceptive.
The MGA advises consumers to check operators’ licensing status before using their services. It emphasizes that its approved operators meet strict standards for player protection, unlike unregulated sites like Casinowinner.io, which operate unchecked.
The regulator warns that players who gamble on Casinowinner.io face the risk of unfair play and potential financial loss.
This alert is part of the MGA's ongoing efforts to warn the public about unlicensed operators using its logo to falsely claim affiliation.
Last month, the MGA flagged 17 URLs linked to God55 casino for operating without authorization. The site allegedly operated in several countries, including Malaysia and Signapore, while falsely claiming MGA and PAGCOR accreditation.
As of press time, no mention of MGA can be seen on casinowinner.io. Instead, the company claims to hold an e-gaming license issued by the central government of the Netherlands Antilles.

The MGA License and Local Laws
If an operator has an MGA license, they are allowed to operate within the European Union (EU) and European Economic Area (EEA), as well as other territories that recognize Malta's licensing regime.
However, as regulations constantly evolve and countries tighten their grip on online gambling regulation within their respective jurisdictions, operators with MGA licenses are becoming subject to local licensing requirements.
For instance, last year, the Dutch Gambling Authority, KSA issued a €19.7 million fine to Gammix Limited, an online casino company based in Malta, for providing gambling services to players in the Netherlands without a license.
