Matchroom Boxing bout Cancelled after Betting Irregularities
Matchroom Boxing, the DAZN promoters, announced the cancellation of the Aqib Fiaz vs. Kane Baker fight last weekend after being alerted to suspicious betting patterns noticed on the sporting event.

The fight which was due to take place in Birmingham, UK at the Resorts World Arena on the Tyler Denny-Felix Cash DAZN undercard was called off shortly before the boxing match was about to start in an announcement by boxing promoter Barry Hearn.
In further detail, it appears that Fiaz, who was the heavy favorite in the fight, was subjected to wagering patterns that were erratic, and this was reported by Hearn. The promotor said he was not aware of any involvement from his team and expanded that he was unable to make any further comments due to advice he has received from the regulators.

Matchroom Collaborated with UKGC to Reach Decision
One of the regulatory organizations Hearn spoke to was the United Kingdom Gambling Commission (UKGC) and the gambling regulator has indicated there will now be a full investigation into the betting patterns on the boxing bout.
The UKGC states it is committed to making the gaming environment fair and safe for customers in the UK jurisdiction. This includes trying to reduce corruption and match-fixing within sporting events so that gamblers can be assured that the events they are watching are free from betting corruption.
I was made aware of some betting irregularities on that fight, I was given some information, I followed it up myself and with my team, the Gambling Commission and the British Boxing Board of Control. Having spoken to a number of people, I decided to pull the fight pending further investigation.
