Man Pleads Guilty to Red Rock Casino Attempted Murder Charges
Shayne Sussman, 25, has entered a guilty plea for three attempted murder charges following an incident on August 2, 2024, at Red Rock Casino Resort and Spa that resulted in two spa employees being stabbed.

Sussman pleaded guilty under the Alford Doctrine, indicating that he acknowledges sufficient evidence against him but maintains his innocence. He’ll be sentenced on November 26, 2024, and faces up to 20 years in prison.
What Happened on August 2nd
On August 2, Sussman stabbed one Red Rock Casino Resort and Spa employee in multiple areas, including the back, lungs, neck, and collarbone, prosecutors said. From there, another person, a supervisor at the casino, was also stabbed.
After this, Sussman fled into the casino. A security guard approached him; he lunged at them and attempted to run away. Sussman threatened security guards with a knife, resulting in a guard shooting him in the chest and wounding him.
He, along with the victims in the case, was brought to University Medical Center for treatment. According to the Las Vegas Review-Journal, casino patrons hid under tables as the incident unfolded.

Criminal Defense Attorney Says Sussman Was “Plastered”
Before the stabbings occurred, Sussman was at a concert at the casino and drinking. According to his attorney Thomas Ericcson, he was “so plastered that he clearly loses control of his mind.”
Under the plea agreement, Sussman won’t be eligible for parole. In all, Sussman was charged with the following:
● Four counts of battery with the use of a deadly weapon;
● One count of battery with use of a deadly weapon resulting in substantial bodily harm;
● Three charges of attempted murder with the use of a deadly weapon.
Other charges were filed against Sussman but dropped before his guilty plea via the Alford Doctrine.
