Macau Grand Prix 2023 Boasts Inspiring Event Agenda and Sponsorships
Macau, renowned for its vibrant entertainment and sporting events, is gearing up for the 70th edition of the highly anticipated Macau Grand Prix.
In an exciting development, all six of Macau's concessionaires have pledged their support by committing a combined sponsorship of MOP$120 million (US$15 million) for the upcoming event, scheduled to take place from November 16 to 19, 2023.
The announcement was made at a press conference on Wednesday, attended by the Director of the Sports Bureau of Macao, Pun Weng Kun, alongside representatives from each of the six concessionaires. It was revealed that each sponsor would contribute MOP$20 million (US$2.5 million) towards the Grand Prix, illustrating their shared enthusiasm for the prestigious racing event.
Pun Weng Kun expressed the government's satisfaction with the concessionaires' involvement, highlighting their collective resources and expertise as pivotal factors in elevating the Macau Grand Prix experience. The 70th edition of the Macau Grand Prix promises to be a spectacular affair, featuring an expanded program spanning two consecutive weekends. The racing action will unfold over six days, with a total of 11 thrilling races. The first week, on November 11 and 12, will showcase five races, including the Asian Formula 4, Greater Bay Area GT Cup, TCR Asia Challenge, Roadsport Challenge, and an undisclosed race.
The second week, running from November 16 to 19 will showcase six races, headlined by the FIA Formula 3 World Cup and FIA GT World Cup. The lineup also includes the TCR World Tour Finale, Motorcycle Grand Prix, Macau Touring Car Cup, and the 70th Anniversary Challenge. This diverse range of races promises an unforgettable experience not only for motorsport enthusiasts but gamblers as well, as there will be all kinds of different betting opportunities provided by Macau's gambling markets.
The MOP$120 million (US$15 million) sponsorship commitment from Macau's concessionaires for this year's Grand Prix represents a substantial increase compared to the previous year.
