LuckyDays Bags Ontario Online Gambling License
The Alcohol and Gaming Commission of Ontario (AGCO) has granted LuckyDays an online gambling license in Ontario.
Owned by L7 Entertainment, LuckyDays is the latest iGaming brand to get approved in the Canadian province of Ontario. As a result, via its Canada-facing website LuckyDays.ca, the operator can now offer games of chance in the jurisdiction for real money for a duration of one year.
Upon its license expiration on Oct 12 next year, LuckyDays will have to renew its license to continue gambling services in the jurisdiction.
The approval comes after iGaming Ontario, a subsidiary of the AGCO, published the statistics for the second quarter of legal iGaming in Ontario.
According to the report, bettors in Ontario spent CA$6.04bn (£3.88bn/€4.48bn/US$4.37bn) on sports wagering during the second quarter of the province's 2022-23 financial year. The gross gambling revenue of the province reached $267.0m, an increase of 64.8% from $162.0m in Q1.
Furthermore, active players' accounts reached 628,000, a significant boost from 492,000 in the opening quarter. The average spend per player increased from $113 in Q1 to $142. By the end of the second quarter, over 24 active operators were running 42 licensed websites in the jurisdiction.
Since the Q2 report, the AGCO has now licensed ten brands, including Zodiac.casino, Yukongold.casino, Luxury.casino, and Grandmondialcasino.com, owned by Apollo Entertainment and Ot.betsafe.com, and On.canplaycasino.com, owned by GWN Limited and Palo Interactive, respectively.
