Live! Casino & Hotel Louisiana Celebrates Topping Off Ceremony
The first land-based casino in the Shreveport-Bossier area reached a major milestone on Wednesday, July 17.
Topping Off ceremony a success for Live! Casino & Hotel Louisiana.
The Cordish Companies hosted a ‘Topping Off’ ceremony for the new Live! Casino & Hotel Louisiana, a project set to become a key regional hub for entertainment and economic growth. The ‘Topping Off’ event of brick-and-mortar casinos involves painting the final beam white and having it signed by the steel erection crew, construction team, designers, owners, and dignitaries. Traditionally, this beam is decorated with an evergreen tree and an American flag at either end. For Live! Casino, the beam featured an American flag and a Louisiana flag at opposite ends, with a small tree in the center.
It’s going to be a game-changer for Bossier City. We are celebrating the ceremonial last piece of steel to be placed into the construction project. This ceremony is an important launching off point that says we’re really not that far away from opening.
Casino to Deliver 1,500 New Jobs
The $270-million project is set to open in the first quarter of 2025. The initiative will generate around 1,500 new jobs, comprising 750 construction positions and approximately 750 permanent roles. Additionally, it is projected to bring in over $35 million in gaming tax revenues for Bossier City and more than $168 million for the State of Louisiana in its first five years.
Bossier City Mayor Tommy Chandler said that the casino will bring more tourism and economic growth that will benefit the entire state. Set on the Red River in Bossier City, Live! Casino & Hotel Louisiana will offer more than 47,000 square feet of gaming space, a sportsbook, 550 upscale hotel rooms, a resort pool and fitness center, a multi-purpose event center, a 31-site RV park, and 30,000 square feet of dining options.

Ridotto Grand Café, located next to the hotel lobby, will serve breakfast, lunch, and dinner daily. It draws inspiration from “Il Ridotto” of Venice, the first casino in Europe, and will feature Italian specialties with a Venetian twist.
The Prime Rib, a highly acclaimed fine dining establishment, has received numerous accolades, including being named a Top 10 Best Casino Restaurant by USA TODAY Readers’ Choice Awards in both 2022 and 2023. This family-owned restaurant offers a range of steaks, including their signature prime rib, filet mignon, ribeye, porterhouse, and NY strip.
