LeoVegas Gets Approval for German Gaming Market

LeoVegas has received the go-ahead to launch its online gambling services in Germany.

Licensed by the German Federal States' Joint Gambling Authority, Gemeinsamen Glücksspielbehörde (GGL), LeoVegas Group, through its betting brand, LVSports Limited can now offer its virtual slots and other casino games in all 16 states across Germany.

We are looking forward to launching LeoVegas in Germany under the new nationwide license. With our track record of regulated markets, we will ensure the greatest igaming experience with a high level of consumer protection.

Gustaf HagmanChief Executive at LeoVegas Group

LeoVegas was founded in 2011 in Sweden. Since then, the leading provider of online and sports betting services has expanded in various European jurisdictions, including Norway, Denmark, Finland, and the United Kingdom.

By securing market access into Germany, the casino operator can further expand its presence in Europe. This move might significantly impact LeoVegas' trading update for the first quarter of the year. In its final quarter update last year, the company reported a 0.7% lower year-on-year revenue at €98.7m.

In January, LeoVegas signed former goalkeeper Shay Given as its brand ambassador and gaming analyst. Under the terms of the agreement, Given will provide weekly insight, analysis, and betting tips on upcoming football matches.
