Adelson’s Support Crucial as Harris Maintains Fundraising Lead
The huge financial support comes as Trump’s re-election campaign trails behind Vice President Kamala Harris in fundraising efforts. The latest donations of the late Sheldon Adelson’s wife, made between July and September, bring her total contributions to the PAC for this year to $100 million. The funding is considered vital as Trump’s campaign has been struggling to keep up with Harris’ when it comes to fundraising. According to Bloomberg, Harris has raised $1 billion for her campaign, while Trump has raised $853 million.
Adelson’s financial contributions make up a large part of the PAC’s third-quarter funds, and this boost is expected to be critical in the election’s final weeks. Preserve America has already put $113 million into advertising in support of Trump, concentrating on key battleground states such as Michigan and Wisconsin. Trump narrowly won these states in 2016 but lost them in 2020. Once again, they are anticipated to be deciding factors in the 2024 race.
As the widow of Sheldon Adelson, the late casino mogul, Miriam Adelson has long been a prominent donor to Republican campaigns and a steadfast supporter of Donald Trump. In 2020, she and her husband contributed $90 million to Trump’s re-election bid, becoming his biggest financial backers. Her recent donations are a demonstration of her ongoing commitment to Trump’s political ambitions and fulfil her previous pledge to financially support his 2024 run.

Trump PAC Left with $7.4M as Harris Outpaces in Spending
Despite Adelson’s significant backing, Preserve America PAC has only $7.4 million left to spend. In contrast, the Harris campaign has managed to outspend Trump in every major battleground state, with $314 million spent on media buys compared to Trump’s $173 million. Furthermore, the Harris campaign has used its financial lead to open more than 330 field offices, staffed with 2,000 paid workers, as part of its voter outreach efforts.
Adelson’s support has attracted attention in recent weeks after she appeared with Trump at a September event where the former president stirred controversy by stating that Jewish voters would be to blame if he lost the election. Trump also tied his future success to Israel’s fate, referencing his 2018 decision to relocate the U.S. embassy to Jerusalem, a move that was praised by Adelson and other supporters of Israel.
In related news, The Las Vegas Review-Journal, owned by the Adelson family, recently endorsed Trump for the 2024 presidential election, as it did in both 2016 and 2020.
