The milestone follows the completion of the initial phase of a $340 million renovation project designed to reestablish the Rio as one of Las Vegas’s premier destinations.

Redesigned Suites and Enhanced Amenities

The first phase focused on transforming the 1,500 suites in the Ipanema Tower, with designs inspired by the dynamic colors and energy of Rio de Janeiro. Other improvements include six new dining options at the Canteen Food Hall, a refreshed 220,000-square-foot space for meetings and conventions, a reimagined pool district featuring four pools, and a casino floor that now boasts 500 new slot machines and 30 table games.

The updates also introduced the Lapa Lounge, influenced by the nightlife of Rio’s Lapa neighborhood, and Luckley Tavern & Grill, which offers a casual, all-American menu.

Phase Two and Exterior Upgrades

The second phase of renovations will concentrate on the Masquerade Tower and other public spaces, with the aim of creating a unified and improved experience for guests across the entire property. On the property’s exterior, renovations include a cutting-edge light display created by lighting designers Chris Kuroda and Andrew Giffin.

We’ve not only re-energized the resort’s design and experience, but we’ve proudly honored its legacy as a quintessential Las Vegas icon, providing World of Hyatt members and global travelers with even more ways to immerse themselves in our destination’s fun, energetic and eclectic atmosphere.

The renovation aligns with prior initiatives, such as launching a new loyalty program and integrating the IGT Advantage casino management system.
