Las Vegas Casinos Revise Table Game Smoking Rules
A recent report has revealed that two Las Vegas casinos have modified their smoking policies. According to local press reports, The Venetian and the Palazzo have brought in policy changes permitting table game players to smoke. However, both also accommodate requests for non-smoking tables, ensuring that guests can opt for a smoke-free environment.
Cigarettes, Cigars, and Vapes Allowed
A memo was published by the popular brick-and-mortar casinos stating that the new smoking policy took effect on November 6, 2023, allowing table game players at The Venetian and the Palazzo to smoke cigarettes, vapes, and cigars. The venues have clarified, however, that marijuana and its related products are still strictly banned.
Beginning Monday, Nov. 6, the company will reinstate the smoking policy on the casino floor, which will permit the smoking of cigarettes, cigars and vapes at all table games on the casino floors at The Venetian and the Palazzo. As a reminder, the use or visibility of marijuana products continues to be strictly prohibited.
Smoke-Free Tables Available
With the new policy adjustments, The Venetian and Palazzo now offer smoke-free tables upon visitor request. Guests at these casinos who prefer a non-smoking environment can ask for such a table, which they may do by speaking with a table games supervisor or another senior casino official.
The news was criticized by Cynthia Hallett, president and CEO of Americans for Nonsmokers’ Rights. She argues that these measures are inadequate for the protection of non-smoking guests and casino employees and cautions about the dangers of secondhand smoke for everyone in the casino environment.
