Las Vegas Casino Resorts Offer Help to Wildfire Evacuees
Several Las Vegas casino hotels, including Resorts World, Commerce Casino, Treasure Island, South Point, and Virgin Hotels, have stepped forward to help evacuees of the California wildfires by offering discounted accommodation.
The fires, which have been raging for days, have devastated communities, leaving a trail of destruction in their wake and forcing more than 130,000 people to flee their homes. It is estimated that damage from the fires will exceed $50 billion.
Casino Hotels Offer Support to Displaced Residents
The ongoing wildfires across the West Coast are now affecting areas as far as Hollywood. To help those affected, Resorts World Las Vegas announced discounted room rates available from January 9 through January 17. Residents of Los Angeles and nearby areas can access a 35% discount for rooms and suites at the Hilton and Conrad hotel towers. To claim the “LA Support Rate”, evacuees need only call 702-676-7036 when booking.
Other properties have also extended their support. Fontainebleau Las Vegas is providing accommodation to those affected and displaced individuals can call 833-702-7272 for bookings.

Treasure Island Las Vegas is offering discounted rates through January 31, 2025. Rooms are available at $79 per night, subject to availability, for evacuees who call 1-800-288-7206 and request the special rate.

Nonprofits and Corporations Join the Relief Effort
Wynn Resorts has pledged $1 million to aid wildfire relief efforts, with $700,000 going to the American Red Cross and $300,000 to the Los Angeles Fire Department Foundation. The company said that it is ready to help in any way possible.
Additionally, residents in Las Vegas can contribute by offering temporary housing through platforms such as Airbnb.org and 211 LA. Airbnb.org, the nonprofit arm of the popular booking platform, connects evacuees with homeowners offering temporary accommodations and waves all service fees. Similarly, 211 LA helps link those in need of housing and resources with potential donors.
