KSA Outlines Player Deposit Limits in Its Responsible Gaming Policy
Kansspelautoriteit (KSA) has announced it has released the details of the player deposit limits structure that will soon come into effect as part of its gambling legislative changes.
Kansspelautoriteit set player deposit limits in its new responsible gaming policy.
The changes are part of the KOA Act amendments and will commence on October 1st, which outlines set limits for adults aged 25 and over and a lower limit for young adults.
In details of its new Responsible Gaming Policy, Kansspelautoriteit has set a monthly limit before gaming operators should intervene when adult deposits exceed €350 and young adults reach €150. Operators are required to impose a limit on all players of €700 for adults and €300 for those aged under 25.
For players who wish to exceed these limits, gaming operators must perform two checks. Firstly, they must check on the welfare of the customer, and secondly, they are required to perform financial checks on players to ensure they can afford to gamble.
In principle, it is in line with the duty of care for the provider to block further deposits in the remainder of the calendar month in which the net deposit limit has been exceeded. The provider is not obliged to investigate the financial capacity of the player.

Providers Given Guidance When to Intervene
Under the terms of the Gambling Act changes the KSA has set out rules when a gaming operator is expected to intervene during a customer’s gameplay to ensure a safe gambling environment for players.
Gaming companies that are operating online should have the correct procedures in place to automatically highlight customers who show signs of not being in control of their gambling activities.
in the guidance for land-based casinos and other gaming establishments, the regulator had said that management and personnel at these venues should have undergone the appropriate staff training to identify and speak with players that they feel are vulnerable to gambling-related harm.
A provider must recognize signs of immoderate participation in games of chance or (a risk of) gambling addiction as soon as possible and be able to intervene accordingly. Usually, a provider of online games of chance can intervene (almost) immediately and automatically. This is done via software that automatically recognizes signals.
