Kindred Reveals Swedish Problem Gambling Metrics for H2 2022
Since autumn 2022, ATG, Kindred, and Svenska Spel have been publishing key metrics regarding problem gambling in the Swedish market. The metrics are reported to the Swedish Gambling Authority every six months, and they show the percentage of players who were contacted due to suspected problem gambling and the impact of the contact.
There are four key metrics reported, and the hope is that they will help to raise awareness of Kindred Group’s work in the area of responsible gambling. It is also hoped that it will inspire other Swedish licensed operators to publish similar metrics.
Our decision together with ATG and Svenska Spel to openly publish important customer behavior data, in addition to our Journey towards zero ambition, will make it easier for our stakeholders to follow and understand how we, with the help of regulation, technology, research, and human interaction, work to prevent harmful gambling. We believe that a more fact-based and open dialogue contributes to a more sustainable industry, and we hope other operators will follow.
The latest metrics, which cover the period 1 July to 31 December 2022, showed that 0.5% of total active customers were contacted due to suspected or detected problem gambling. Of those contacted, 76.8% then reduced their gambling. The average deposits of those contacted dropped by 75.5%. Finally, 1.4% of those contacted chose to self-exclude from Kindred’s platform for up to six months, and 0.5% chose to self-exclude for longer.
