Kansas Enjoys Record Sports Betting Handle in January 2025
The Kansas Lottery, the US state gambling commission, has announced the release of the latest sports revenue figures for Kansas, which show the region enjoyed a record month.

Results in January saw Kansas achieve sports betting revenues of $301.8 million for the month up from up a revenue of $261.3m for December 2024, a rise of 15.5% in a monthly comparison.
The latest figures show a continued rise in sports betting in the state with significant market expansion fuelled by an increase in consumer interest. There has been a 26% year-on-year rise in sports wagering across the state when compared to January 2024.
The success of sports betting in the state is also reflected in the substantial increase in sports wagering taxes collected by the authorities in Kansas. This now stands at $1.6 million which the regulated sports gaming market contributes to the state's economy.

Online Sports Betting Continues to Rise
In a breakdown of the revenue figures for January, it can be seen that the overwhelming amount of wagering was generated online and accounted for $293.2 million for the month. This highlights the continued significant growth in online gambling in Kansas and this is a reflection of the overall gambling industry where online platforms generate the majority of the revenues.
Online sportsbook operator DraftKings generated the most revenue in January this year with sports bets amounting to $123.4 million. With FanDuel achieving a revenue of $96.5 million for the same period.
Authorities in Kansas have recently warned customers to be aware of criminal activity that involves social media scams to steal casino deposits from players.
