Jackpot Junction Casino Hotel Shuts Down Amid Cyberattack
This past weekend, the Lower Sioux Indian Community in Minnesota was hit with a cyberattack, forcing them to shut down slot machines and phones and cancel bingo events at the Jackpot Junction Casino Hotel.

According to posts on the dark web, a hacker group, RansomHub, took credit for the attack. It was reported they were involved in the cyberattack that impacted the Kewadin Casinos in Michigan earlier this year.

Recent Attacks and Where Jackpot Junction Stands
As mentioned, earlier this year, the Kewadin Casinos in Michigan were hit with an attack that shut them down for quite some time. The good news is that Kewadin were able to reopen in February 2025.
As for Jackpot Junction, phone lines were down as of Tuesday; guests could not call the hotel, and guests who did arrive had to be escorted to their rooms to be let in manually. Guests were also leaving as slot machines went down over the weekend on Saturday. The bar, restaurants, and table games are still open on Wednesday. They’ve also continued hosting live music.
