Irina Ruf Becomes First Female Managing Director at Merkur Casino
LISTEN TO THIS ARTICLE:Merkur Casino has announced the appointment of Irina Ruf as its new Managing Director International.
Ruf has been with Merkur Casino since October 2014, when she joined as Head of Business Development. She has since held different roles in the company, including Operations Manager, Special Task Operations Manager and, most recently, Executive Operations Director.
In her new role, Ruf will oversee the growth of the brand in current markets and its launch in new jurisdictions. She will also be in charge of the company’s international acquisitions.
I am looking forward to developing new geographical markets and implementing exciting projects together with my team. One particular focus will be on developing the online markets. Our goal is to maintain Merkur Casino International’s strong position and to confidently rise to the ever-growing demands.
With her appointment, Ruf becomes the first female Managing Director at Merkur Casino. She will replace her predecessor, Stefan Bruns, who is taking up a new position within the Management Board of the sports betting and iGaming business unit of the Gauselmann Group.
Gauselmann Group, through its subsidiary, Merkur Casino, operates about 800 arcades in Germany and across Europe. The company also has an online supplier division, Merkur Gaming which provides a variety of casino games for the online gambling market.
